COVID-19 XBB vaccine is now widely available to everyone in our community at pharmacies and health care providers.
The WECHU is offering a limited number of appointments to get COVID-19 XBB vaccination for individuals in the following priority groups identified by the Ontario Ministry of Health:
- Pregnant individuals
- Individuals ≥ 65 years of age
- All children 6 months to 4 years of age
- Individuals who are from a First Nation, Inuit or Métis community, and/or who self-identify as First Nation, Inuit, or Métis, and their household members
- Individuals 6 months of age and older with underlying health conditions per NACI recommendations
- Members of racialized and other equity deserving communities
- Health care workers and first responders
Eligibility to receive the COVID-19 vaccine is limited to those who have not had a dose of COVID-19 vaccine or a confirmed COVID-19 infection within the last 6 months. Individuals 6 months and older may receive a COVID-19 vaccine at the same time, or at any time before or after, other vaccines. Flu shots will be offered to eligible individuals during their COVID-19 vaccination appointment. Fluzone® Quadrivalent or FluLaval Tetra vaccine products are available at the WECHU clinics. Contact your health care provider for Fluzone® High Dose flu vaccine.

Free parking is available in front of the Central 33 office building.
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE COMING TO THE CLINIC?
- Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment.
- Mask or face coverings are strongly recommended at the vaccination site.
- If you do not have an OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan) card, you can still get a vaccine by presenting another form of a government issued-photo ID such as a driver’s license, passport, Status Card or other provincial health cards. You do not have to be a Canadian citizen to receive a vaccine if you are a current resident of Windsor-Essex.
- Children aged 11 and under must be accompanied by their custodial parent or guardian to receive a vaccine and will be required to present a health card or other form of identification.
- Stay home if you or your child is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or are not feeling well. Rebook the appointment when they are feeling well.

Health Care Providers
Contact your health care provider to confirm they are administering COVID-19 vaccines. Please note that your health care provider may not be directly administering COVID-19 vaccines; however, the vaccine may be available through a partnering health care provider.
